My name is Selena, aka the Apron Thrift Girl, and I have been a thrifter since I was a babe in my mother's arms. Ever since I was young I remember going around thrift store after thrift store with my parents. Of course it wasn't so cool back in the 70's to thrift but what did a three year old know about being cool. All I cared about was how many Fisher Price Little People I had to go in my FP airplane.
Obviously I must have felt some comfort around 2nd hand items because I cannot ever remember a time when I didn't thrift shop or love it. Even while living in the UK didn't stop my thrift addiction. I went from Yard Sailing to Boot Sailing. Every Sunday morning in the south of England (where I was living) designated fields would open up to cars and people would park in neat little English rows full of cow patties and muddy grass and buy items out of the "boot" (trunk).
Well here I am having just turned 34 and still addicted as ever if not more. Nowadays I don't have to wait until the weekend to get my fix. I can hit thrift stores, bid on eBay auctions or even shop locally through Craig's List. It's a thrifter's paradise out there.
