help me with my math
I think I need to reconsider the way I work out my math. I had a Macy's bill to pay that was due yesterday. I thought I would pay the bill at the store the next time I was in town to save on a stamp.
Outside of the thrift world, I really just adore Macy's. I love their store credit card which sends me coupons and savings cards over and over again, I love the extra 15% off I can save on top of their already clearance items (on special days) and I love the fact that I can wander around and around looking at this without have to spend a cent. I like trying on their posh clothes but not buying any of them. I go for the experience of retail shopping. It's the only store credit card I have and actually use because the money I save by spending is just too much to resist.
I dropped off the children at school yesterday morning and wandered over to the next town to pay my bill. I arrived before Macy's opened so I popped into Target just have a peek at their fall styles. This is where my math failed me. When did Target start selling clothes that are so hard to pass by?
First there was this which cried out my name when I passed by her on the rack.
Then there was this dress which felt luxuriously warm and cozy, perfect for Autumn. Of course I had to add a pair of gray leggings to match and to top it off I found these.
I was putty in Target's hands. All because I wanted to save on a .42 cent stamp.
Sigh....well at least I didn't buy anything at Macy's.

lol....there are days when I'm not very good at math either. Well, at least you picked out some adorable clothes that you'll wear constantly.

Great acquisitions!
Because we are on a budget (I'm a SAHM), I only buy our clothes and shoes from Target. The kids clothes are really good and stylish. I bought all my maternity clothes there. I also have those shoes you bought, but mine are in brown. I can't wait to give birth so I can go buy some kitten heels that Target is selling.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I have been enjoying reading yours... Ain't island living great, well, except for the lack of shopping. The closest Targett o me is about 2 1/2 hours - but they do have some cute things.

don't you just hate it when clothing screams and begs you to buy it, right in the middle of the store? it's so embarassing ;-) that stuff is super cute!
i just saw your comment on soulemama -- i'll have to bend your ear sometime about your waldorf experience!

I have a weak spot for Target too, although I have to drive at least an hour to get to one. I've not really looked at clothes for me there, just clothes for my daughter and housewares. I'll have to check that out next time I'm there. There are days when my math isn't so good either. LOL.

You found some very cute clothes! I want a sweater dress like the one you bought.

That top is so cute. I think I need to take a trip to Target today.

Ha! Yes, Target is pretty great with designer clothes these days. That sweater dress is divine! I might have to go out and snag that too! I've done the same thing when just going to Target for toilet paper or something equally unexciting. Come to think of it, I need tp at my house today! Hmmmm. If my husband gets mad when I come home with a new sweater dress, its your fault!! :)

Now I'm positive we should go shopping together, though we'd have a lot of guilt to deal with after. Oh well.

Love the shoes

Target is my gateway drug to thrifting, or maybe it's vice versa -- go thrifting, stop at Target. Go to Target, stop at the thrifts!
And throw in some IKEA while I'm out there...
Did you know you can pay your Macy's bill online? It's easy, just register on the site and link up a bank account... no cost if you use the correct option (there is I think some form of express pay).

What great stuff! It's hard to pay for higher-end stuff when you know Target is always there. And I love that they turn over their stuff so frequently , so you don't see your outfit everywhere you go!

Hey. I'm so glad you stopped by my blog today. I am enjoying yours so much already! Definitely LOVE those clothes the one especially. Just very street chic. I can see you are a woman after my own heart.
Going to read a bit more now.

yeah, i find more and more tempting things at target. finding maternity clothes is a nightmare, but a lot of their regular stuff, just in a size larger than i normally wear works really well for me.

I'm going to Target. Right. Now.

Love Target! We all do - even my boy seems addicted. He is always trying to get me to take him. I love your purchases. At least at Target, you don't have too much guilt over what you buy, even if you pay full price.

heh heh, I can usually resist clothes, but not plants! Although, I will probably end up back at a local shop called "The Market" which features different vendors. I went in today for a green bead garland to use with my curtain tie backs. Well, we couldn't find the garland, but I loved a real feather raven they had for Halloween. I resisted! The lady called me this evening to let me know that she found the garland and will set it aside for me. I will probably end up with the raven too, if it is still there!

Sounds like something I would do! But I love what you bought. Very fun and just perfectly fall.

I love your blog! My thrifting abilities have improved since I discovered your site. In earlier posts you mention loving Franciscan desert rose dishes. Today I was shopping at Marshall's and they had an entire shelf of the stuff! Just letting you know. Thanks for sharing your great blog with us.

It's the air they pump into the store I tell you! I go to Target to get our household supplies and end up spending another $50 or $100 on "stuff". I'm glad that their style has progressed over the years with their clothing. A lot of cute stuff there. I'm scared to go but I need to get some cleaning supplies.

Love your style!

Looks good! How's the quality? The shoes are not really my taste, but they are cute. Sometimes you need to treat yourself, well done! I'm still thinking and planning what I "need" for fall. :-)

Ack! Selena, you won't believe it but I have the same exact shoes, but in brown! I've been wearing them with everything all summer...perfect for dresses or shorts or skirts or whatever! At this point in life, Target is my only wardrobe spot (throw it into the cart along with other family necessities and try it on when I get home...)
