I can barely begin to express what a fabulous thrift weekend I had. At one point on Saturday morning I had so many finds that I seriously had to take some deep breaths. I had about an hour straight of find after find and I became really light headed. I mean you can only be on a natural high for so long before something has to give. I took it slower but still continued to find things. I left this rummage sale on a complete and utter thrift high. It was probably one of the best rummage sales that I have ever been to. Ever.
It all began with some Vera. Notice the person pricing wrote "new designer."
When I walked over to the cookware I saw not one but two Catherine Holm pots with lids waiting for me. $2 each.
The cutting board (with knife in the handle) and the large Jens Quistgaard pepper shaker both need a bit of a cleaning. $1.50 for all.
Another Quistgaard designed piece, a teak salad bowl with very modern style servers. $10.
It's a bit dusty but it is my first ever baker's thread find. I've been longing for some after seeing Cathe Holden's post on Divine Twine. This large spool cost me 50¢.
This delicious Wool Blanket was only $3.00. I've tried to cut myself off buying any more wool blankets. I even admitted to Dave that I had a problem. I told him that I was through with wool blankets. The day I told him that, I brought home TWO wool blankets. I think the reason that I constantly fall off the wagon is that I am teased by unique colors and patterns. The first two culprits were pink and white and this one of course is an Autumn yellow that makes you crave a bowl of soup with some warm Udi's bread. Bliss.
The funny thing about this rummage sale is that I started in the book area. It's usually where I can make the most money. I spent maybe one minute there and realized that the books were not worth my time. I went over to the linens followed by the households area. The items that I showed here are only the icing on the cake. I only thrifted until noon on Saturday because my brother and family came to visit for the day. Yet I felt completely satisfied. Especially after finding an old Longaberger basket with lid for $1.00 at another yard sale.
Cerys and I went out on Sunday and again and found great items up to the very last sale. It was my day of sterling silver. I can't tell you how many dreams I have of uncovering a box of sterling silver and gold. But even on the second day, at the end of the day I found inexpensive sterling. It just goes to show that valuable items can be found at any point in the course of a garage/yard sale. You just have to look for them.
I hope that there was good luck to be had by everyone. Did you thrift during the weekend? What did you find? Don't forget to pop on over to Southern Hospitality to check out her party too.

Looks like we both posted early thrift shares this time :) you hit the JACK POT- love your vintage finds. I had two fun little Goodwill trips and found some pretty new things to cherish.
Compulsive thrifter...gotta stop this addiction.

My goodness Selena! You weren't joking. Those are some really great items for ridiculously low items! Talk about super great scores...no wonder you became light headed-lol!

oops! That was suppose to say great items for ridiculously low "prices"!

Same as Ana, I've never found even ONE Vera piece, but I'm still looking. We found an antique (1901) hand-crank wall clock ($50), but we already have it up on Ebay, and the first bid is $99.99! We also found 3 Danish candlesticks for Christmas, that I'll probably wait until October to put up. Great stuff this weekend!

Oh! The enameled pots! They're darling. Unless it's new and has ucky decals on it, it's so hard to pass up anything vintage enameled. Just makes you happy! And, should that be how you feel when you cook? Happy?

Everything you found is lovely! And the prices - no wonder you got a thrifting "high!"

I love the modern servers.
Love the pots. heck I love everything.
I had a fantastic end to the rummage sale as well. It was interesting being on the other side of the table.
Another thing to hunt for Catherine Holmes!

Oh, I'm drooling over those Catherineholm pots! One day, I hope to be as lucky. I don't even need to cook with them. I just want to look at them and breathe in their beauty. Congrats on your AWESOMELY AWESOME weekend!

You have such a great eye and talent for locating beautiful things!

I'm guessing they meant the item was new, not the designer.

Lovely! Will you be reselling the cutting board? My parents have one and I've been on the look out for years. Let me know!

Sounds like you had a good weekend. I would love to see your silver finds someday. Around here there is a strange amount of silver at garage sales at ridiculously cheap prices. My theory is that no one wants to polish it anymore.
