Keiran and I found some flatware at a thrift store a couple months ago. There were only a few pieces and I had originally planned to sell them. I arrived home, researched the brand and located the pattern name.
The pattern seems to have two names Cortez & Aztek and was produced by the company Lyon.
With all flatware that I buy to ReSell, I run it through the dishwasher. More often than not it ends up in our silverware drawer since my daughter empties the dishwasher. It only took me using a Cortez fork once to fall in love with my small set.
The pieces are heavy, made with the smoothest of stainless steel and are just beautiful to eat with. Rather than sell these they soon became my top choice of flatware to use at any meal.
And now I want more.
I'm yet I'm too thrifty and don't want to pay the high prices that show up on eBay. Sounds like a bit of irony eh?
So I'm asking my fellow thrifters and readers to be on the search of this set for me. I'd love to pay part cash and a whole lot of bartering for pieces of this set. I'm talking vintage glitter, vintage fabric, buttons, pottery, consulting advice etc. You bring me the flatware and then you can name your price.
Are you up for this challenge?

ill be keeping an eye out for you!

It'll be fun to have something specific to look for for someone other than myself!

As Renee said, Love a treasure hunt!
Our "season" is over but there are still estate sales and great shops to explore.
In fact, I have been looking for an excuse to visit a series of barns used as an antique selling experience.

I have a running list in my head of things for other people while I'm out thrifting -- I'll add this to the list. I bet you're going to fill out your silverware drawer very quickly! :-)

I'll keep an open eye when I hunt; but I might want to keep these for myself too. This is a beautiful set! I love the shape, the design, and even the name.

Just keep your eye on Ebay. I feel in love with a set of stainless steel flatware last year. I had just a few pieces from an old Betty Crocker promotion. I would look frequently on eBay and was able to collect the whole 12 place settings over a years time just by bidding at the last minute, browsing, looking and keeping track of new auctions. I love your pattern! It is unusual, and probably not out there for sale very often. You may have to add place settings slowly.

Thought I found you some knives today, but came back to look and they were not the same. :-( Have you found any more of the set?

It is an old pattern. I bought service for eight when I was married in 1968. We've used it ever since because I can't find anything I like better. Over time we've lost a piece or two, and I'd love to have a few more place settings. Good luck in your search.

Have you had any luck finding the Cortez pieces. If you are, you may surprised to know that I have quite a few pieces to this set, as it was my mom's, and I boxed it up and forgot about it until I happened upon the box about 1/2 an hour ago. I have many many pieces, including the hostess set, but ironically, I do not have as many forks as I do the other pieces- LOL!
If you are interested, please let me know soon as I am having a garage sale next week!
