There wasn't too much happening in town this weekend. I did go to an estate sale on Friday and even though I was an hour late, I was the only bookseller on the scene. I was able to pick up an entire banker box of inventory to list this week.
I also went out on Saturday morning and my first and best stop of the day was a rummage sale at a school. Again I found another full box of inventory that included 5 new in package x-box games. The prices were fantastic. Most books were 50¢ each. I went to a few more sales after that but didn't find anything interesting.
Since my MIL is visiting, I came back early so that we could go out for the day as a family. I drove everyone to Sonoma where Dave and MIL enjoyed some wine tasting at Buena Vista Winery. We finished the day off in the heart of town enjoying some ice-cream and fudge. The drive from Santa Rosa to Sonoma is so beautiful. If you ever visit this area, I highly suggest you making the trip to Sonoma. Not to mention Sonoma is filled with some fabulous Thrift Stores.
Plate & Cup - Set includes 4 Plates and 4 Cups in this fab, Mod style.
Two hours into the estate sale on Friday (I arrived an hour in) I found a Bitossi Vase waiting for me. The only problem is that it had a small chip. I wanted to sell it in my Etsy store but I'm going for high quality items in overall very good condition. I just couldn't sell a chipped item. Then I realized that it matched my own Bitossi perfectly. The one on the left is mine, the one on the right is from the estate sale.
It's a faint chip so I decided that I'll keep the chipped Bitossi Vase and I'll sell the better one on Etsy. I don't mind such a small flaw. I just really wanted to have a Bitossi in my shop. If the sun comes back, I'll be taking photos of the vase this week and it will be up in the shop soon.
Did you miss my post on Saturday? Don't forget to catch the premier of Auction Hunters on Spike this Tuesday.
Did you go thrifting this weekend?

I love all your finds, especially the curvy mod plate and cup- it reminds me of a traditional artist's easel!
I received your e-mail late, oops. Let me know if there's still an opportunity. I love the video for "Auction Hunters" for Spike TV. I like how it's from a different perspective, junking and thrifting CAN be exciting and testosterone driven!

Thanks for the Auction Hunters reminder since Spike is not one of my usual stations.
Life has been hectic so I may not get to post this week. Went to a church sale Saturday. Tons more people than usual and donations were down, but so were prices. Nothing was over a dollar!

I love the vibrancy of the vases! Also the plate/cup set. I've seen a set or two like this and just love them. I can picture a house party or progressive dinner, all the ladies and men standing about with holding these and gabbing by the pool.

I love the plate cup set as well. When my aunt got married, my mother collected a bunch from the thrift store to use for her bridal party. I plan on doing the same thing for my friend's!

You found some fun cool things. I have several of the dishes that you showed in the first picture. they were my grandparents.
Have a great day!

I love those plates!!! Great find! That show Auction Hunters sounds really cool, I wish we had shows like that on tv here. Will you share in a post if it was interesting?
By the way, I noticed you added a pic of yourself on the left sidebar. Cutie!! :-)

Oh, I've never thrifted in Sonoma -- but I so agree with you about that countryside. Sigh. So gorgeous! Your vase is lovely -- I've never even heard of a Bitossi, but you're in the right neighborhood to find fine pottery for sure!

I had to refresh the page 2 times to view this page for some reason, however, the information here was worth the wait.
