I had some lovely mail this week.
The first was a beautiful gift from Angie. She had a drawing for this amazing work of art on the right and I won. I was in Sebastopol at the time and had to wait for what felt like an eternity to come home and see it. I even passed up a couple yard sales the day I returned just to go to the PO before 12:30 to pick up my mail hold. And you know I don't drive past a yard sale without stopping very often. The pictures from her blog didn't begin to do the book justice.
Angie made a stationary book out of paperbags. Talk about Eco Chic. It is full of cards, gift tags, silk ribbon, stampwork and more. I keep taking it from the shelf where it is on display in my office and looking through it. I can't imagine ever using the book because it is too beautiful. I'm such a stationery girl too. I drool in places like staples at envelopes, papers and especially pens. When dh brings me home pens from conferences I now have to fight over them with my daughter. This was such the perfect gift and very generous of Angie. I think she is so talented and everything she makes is amazing.
My second package arrived from Mary this morning. She included two sweets that my children pounced on and then disappeared to eat them. They looked yummy though and I'm grateful there were two. She also included a cute small bird which is going to be the first item in my Waldorf doll house I am decorating. I love her tag and what looks like her own stamp. (of which I finally found the supplies to carve my own stamps. Moki has a great tutorial) But inside is the best of all....
I just fell in love with this apron when I saw it on Cherry Tomato. I put this on immediately and fell more in love with it. It fits perfectly, I love the apron strings and I felt like running around the block with it on and shouting hurray to the daisies. Then my children started screaming and hitting and reality brought be back down to earth so I placed it on my apron wall and postponed my apron run for another day.
Speaking of linens. My favorite blogger and friend Jackie is hosting a Tea Towel Swap. I love tea towels. I love them so much I spent $20.00 on this tea towel rack last summer to go in my kitchen.
It expands in and out to dry towels and is made entirely of metal. Once again I fell in love with an item and had to add it to my vintage kitchen. Here is a mish-mosh of tea towels. The one in the back I purchased at Ten Thousand Villages and is fair traded. The pink and white is from Williams-Sonoma when they had a sale. The other three are vintage that I picked up this summer. I'm so looking forward to partaking in my second swap.
