This is the first year where I feel properly moved in on the homestead in Sebastopol. My dad has been spending a lot of time with us and he has kindly spent hours getting the garden beds ready for summer. The children have been helping him and now they are a vital part of the garden routine. Every morning I do the watering and every evening Cerys and Keiran water their designated areas. We are all looking forward to harvesting vegetables and fruit in the coming months.
The above barrel was found at the back of the property. My dad turned it into a wonderful artichoke container garden.
Here are some ideas in a post that I wrote for P&G Everyday - Gardening With Your Kids.
What is your favorite area of the garden to work on with your children? Mine has to be the bed of peas. They love to watch them climb and meander up the canes.
