This last weekend I travelled north to Healdsburg to an estate sale. I should have been there when they opened the doors at 9 a.m. For the second weekend in a row I am kicking myself for not being there early. Thankfully this incredible Charles Eames designed fiberglass chair, manufactured by Herman Miller was still waiting for me. This might be my first official Eames item that I have purchased. I felt nearly faint when I saw it. Funny enough a dealer friend of mine just recently put one in his space and today it sold. I'm going to take this down to the Antique Society in the next few days despite the fact that I want to keep it.
Overall the weekend was fabulous. It was also crazy busy and I'm really juggling buying, selling and parenting. This is my first true summer with selling at a bricks and mortar store which means buying larger items like rocking chairs and coffee table AND figuring out where to store it while waiting for other inventory to sell in my space. I so need a warehouse.
After the concert we had a meet & greet where we received a photo card that they autographed, a sweet hug and a photo opportunity. They were so incredibly warm and friendly. With each person they greeted, it was as if they were long time friends. The children loved having the chance to see a music group that they hear on the radio every day. I'll admit that I loved their song Thank You from the minute I first heard it on the airwaves. And I guess along with that confession I'll admit that I listen to pop music in the van, especially when I am going from yard sale to yard sale. I adore Ke$ha, Macklemore, Fun!, Selena Gomez, Train and Pink. Hey at least my children think I'm sort of a cool mom rapping with Macklemore's Thrift Shop song. Well, Keiran thinks I'm cool. Cerys thinks I'm weird just like a teenager should.
