Nell's Vintage House

Oct. has been tougher than I thought, sales wise. I might have to revise my original goals (as far as sales are concerned...I think I was hoping hard for $1000, but now would be pretty content with $500)

I'm going to light a vintage fire under my butt tomorrow and list list list.

Thanks again for allowing this selling support circle :)

I was going to take part in this challenge and then life threw me a screwball and I have had to deal with a very sick pet - a beloved part of the family for 15 years. Everything has come to a standstill and my motivation is just gone.
However, I did sell my kids' old highchair and a Halloween costume on craigslist for $50 and $10 respectively (that I had listed 2 weeks ago). So, with minimal effort I am at least $60 ahead.

I have been buying and listing like crazy. I've had a few non-payments which irks me a LOT. But I have a good feeling that I'm in a good place to reach my goal. I'm 20% of the way there. I feel good about that.

I finally figured out what I needed to do to open an eBay store. For some reason, I kept getting really lost in the eBay maze, and that just led to me putting it off over and over, and then I finally got tired of listing fees, bit the bullet, hunkered down, and figured it out. It's nothing special, but it's there.

Thanks Selena :)

And for the weird thing of the week: I saw this, did a double take because there was something about the photo that looked so much like your profile pic. Selena's alter ego, perhaps?

Keep on everybody!

Pleased myself so far. On target with listing everyday. My sales target was 5 and have already made 7. So very happy x

I have 7 vintage items and one upcycled hat up in the shop so far, hope to list more today. Sales so far have been pretty blah. Maybe everyone has the mid fall winter's coming doldrums.

Thanks for doing this challenge!

My goal for listing on etsy was 15 new and I am at 18! My ebay goal is 50 and I am at 18, need to get going on that one.

My etsy income goal is $150 and I am at $98, so I think I will hit my goal, especially with all of my great new listings. My ebay goal is $300 and I am at $90. I am going to get listing on the 'bay today and hopefully that will help.

See ya'll next week :)

Shopping Golightly

Wow! What a person journey!

As the newbie on the block, I'm proud to say I was able to establish a live store on eBay. It wasn't easy. Now I'm trying to list. It's not easy for a product listing virgin.

I'm comically journaling my experiences and lessons learned as this project unfolds on the blog. Two unexpected things happened, readers with resale experience are sending detailed, very supportive emails and people already want to purchase merchandise before it's even listed. Not only does this make me feel welcome but like this just might work!

For a long time, I've been told to open an online store. Why haven't I? Fear. I've done some brave thing in my life, funny the little things we elect to hold us back because of fear. Thanks ATG. I'm FINALLY taking the challenge.

I sold one item on eBay to discover my Paypal & eBay emails were not in sync, which caused a great deal of problems. Thankfully, that has been ironed out. I was also asked to sell in a local pop up trunk show, so I have been spending the week preparing for that. No money made, yet, but plenty learned.

Aaah, my motivation was hijacked by the rest of life as well and I haven't really done much. I did collect yet more inventory, a bunch of vintage Vogue patterns, but I really need to buckle down and begin the photographing, descriptions and listing. It's not that any of those is so hard individually, just hard to carve out time and tackle each thing. Thanks for the support!

congrats on your find! you have the best luck, persistence, and timing!

I will be restocking my long empty Etsy shop this weekend with 10 (twice my original goal) vintage items. In the meantime, I have a fun Halloween giveaway on my blog. Have a great, thrifty weekend!

I'd love to join, but I don't have much to list!

Does it have to be something re-sold, or could I post the link to my CafePress store? or Etsy?

This has been SO much fun so far! I was very busy this week, so not a lot of thrifting, but I am happy to report my first sales on Etsy! I was a little disappointed with how many views and favorites my items were getting, but NO sales! Well that was until yesterday, two sales within 20 minutes and another sale today! That brings my total to $244.51, which surpasses my goal of $200! I listed like crazy last weekend, and I hope to again once I hit the estate sales this weekend. It's really great to bring in a little extra cash! I almost have reached my 10 item limit on ebay (8 and I still have more to put up!), and I am considering opening an ebay shop, we will see though!

a family affair

This week has gone better than I expected. The one cent listing day helped to motivate also. I have listed 80 new items on ebay since the challenge started, and 25 on etsy.
My goal is about 75 more and there is some more room for you little one to play. And my sales are up, way up! Yeah!
I am also a teacher and have parent teacher conferences next week, which eats into my listing time, so hopefully I can still reach my goal or beyond!Keep up the good work everyone!

Thanks for the post. Such a great info for all who are into reselling.

Now that our wildly busy Fall Color Drive Weekend is over, it's time for me to get busy listing in my Etsy shop - .

Tomorrow I'm beginning the listing marathon with 100 quilt blocks sold in sets of 5. That'll get me going with 20 listings.

I've noticed in the past that when I increase my listings by 25 in one day, the views really shoot up! Hoping to have a good week listing and selling.

Thank you for the additional needed kick in the seat of the pants.

Good Morning Selena!
Just posted on my blog about some goodies I found at a rather interesting estate sale. Also, I listed 8 items in my long empty Etsy shop (my goal was 5). Thank you for the nudge and good luck to all the re-sellers!

For those of us who wish to shop all of ya'll's etsy/eBay/etc stores, please include links so we can shop & help get you to your goals! I would LOVE that!

Kate [Kaytoe's Vintage]

I've been plugging away at my goal of having 100 items in my shop - made it to 79 today! I feel good about the listing goal. The sales goal isn't so great...I had a great month last month and my goal was to top it, but I'm only 1/4 of the way there and it's already the 17th! eep!
